Pune, 7th June 2023: Residents of Balewadi and Baner areas, who were eagerly awaiting 24-hour running water through the ongoing pipeline work, have encountered an unexpected hurdle. The construction process has resulted in contaminated water being supplied to the residents, posing challenges in accessing clean drinking water.

Ashish Pandey, a resident of Imperium Sky Garden in Balewadi, voiced his concerns, emphasizing the need for clarity on the completion timeline. He stated, “Since this morning, our society, consisting of 44 flats/houses, has been receiving contaminated and muddy water. While we were informed about the ongoing work for 24-hour water supply, it is crucial for us to know when it will be completed so that we can make alternative arrangements for drinking water.”

Assuaging the residents’ anxieties, Amol Balwadkar, Former Corporator of Baner Balewadi Ward in Pune, provided reassurance and information. He stated, “Residents should not worry, as the work is expected to be finished within a day or two. Once completed, residents will have access to pure and clean running water round the clock. While only a few societies have reported issues with contaminated water, we currently do not have immediate alternative arrangements. However, if the problem persists, suitable alternatives will be organized. We kindly request the residents of Baner and Balewadi areas to cooperate and remain patient during this period.”
