Pune Coronavirus: 72 new COVID19 patients today, tally reaches 1139 in PMC; 85 in PCMC

Pune, April 26, 2020: In the last four days, Pune city saw the lowest new Coronavirus positive patients numbers today. There were 72 new COVID19 patients today taking the tally to 1139 in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) areas. Yesterday, there were 90 new patients, while on previous two days there were 104 new cases on each day.

According to PMC till 7.30 pm today, five patients had died while undergoing treatment. Six patients were discharged after being cured. There are still 44 critical patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals. Till now total 72 patients have died while 165 have been cured and discharged. There are 902 active patients in Pune city now.

In PCMC areas, today four patients were declared cured and discharged after 2 samples (24 hrs apart) tested negative. With one new positive case today, the total number of Coronavirus positive patients reached 85 out of which 28 have been cured and discharged till now. Four patients including one from Pune had died at YCM hospital in Pimpri.

In Khadki cantonment board (KCB) area out of 16 patients one patient has been cured and discharged. Out of 15 active patients, three patients are from same family from Dargah Vasahat. Under Pune Cantonment Board (PCB), out of 12 patients one has died while five have been cured and discharged.

As per the Maharshtra health department officials, 440 new Covid-19 cases were reported today in the state taking the state tally to 8068. There were 21 COVID-19 related deaths in the state today. Out of these, 12 deaths were recorded in Mumbai, 5 in Pune Municipal Corporation area, 2 in Jalgaon, 1 was recorded in Solapur city
and 1 in Latur.

Out of the 19 deaths, 11 were men and 8 women. 7 of them aged over 60 years, 10 were from the age group 40 to 59 years and 2 was under 40 years of age. Information of 4 patients regarding comorbidities isn’t available yet. 11 out of the rest 15 patients (59%) had high-risk co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, heart disease, TB etc. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 342 in the state.

Out of 1,16,345 laboratory samples, 1,07,519 were negative and 8068 have been tested positive for coronavirus until today.
As per the guidance from Government of India, cluster containment action plan is being implemented in places where clusters of patients have been found in the state. There are 604 active containment zones in the state currently. Total 8603 surveillance squads worked today across the state and surveillance of 33.72 lakh population was done.

1188 patients have been discharged till date after full recovery. Currently, 1,36,926 people are in home quarantine and 9,160 people are in institutional quarantine.
