Pune Coronavirus: Central Public Health Department team arrives in Pune to take stock of COVID situation

Pune, May 9, 2020: Against the backdrop of an increasing number of patients in Corona, a team of Central Public Health Department arrived in Pune yesterday and the members of this team met the Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar.

Dr Sudhir Gupta, Additional Deputy Director General, Central Health Department, had a detailed discussion. To prevent the spread of corona infection, immediate surveys, contact tracing and quarantine should be carried out in the restricted area (containment zones), he said.

Dr Manas Roy, Assistant Deputy Director-General, Central Public Health Department and Dr Arvind Alone, Senior Regional Director were present on the occasion when Coronavirus outbreak review meeting was held. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of Health Dr Sanjay Deshmukh and Assistant Director of Health Dr RS Adkekar.

Dr Gupta said the Central Public Health Department team would review the situation of Corona in Pune district in consultation with the Director of Public Health, District Health Officer, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner. He will visit Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Hospitals as well as Sassoon hospital, Bharti Hospital and other hospitals treating corona patients.

Dr Mhaisekar informed about the measures being taken for the prevention of coronavirus against the growing COVID19 patients in Satara, Solapur, Sangli and Kolhapur districts along with Pune city in Pune division.
