Pune Coronavirus: Some relaxation in curfew order in these areas

Pune, April 23, 2020: After two days, Pune city police have issued order to allow opening of essential commodities shops in areas from where the most number of patients has been detected. These restrictions were meant for Wednesday and Thursday. Vegetable and grocery shops were also closed.

Now Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ravindra Shisve extended the prohibitory order as per section 144 of the CrPC for areas under 10 out of 30 police stations in Pune. Now essential commodities shops will open as per previous orders (for few hours).

“Additional restrictions were imposed by the police in certain areas of the city where the corona is spreading rapidly. There has been a massive jump in the number of COVID19 positive patients in these areas”, the order had stated.

These additional restrictions were in areas under jurisdictions of police stations Samarth, Khadak, Faraskhana, Swargate, Bundgarden, Duttawadi, Yerwada, Khadki, Kondhwa and Wanwadi. People should maintain social distancing and wear mask, else police will send them home.

There was additional restriction in following areas of Pune : All areas under Samarth Police Station; All areas under Khadak Police Station; All areas under Faraskhana Police Station; Swargate Police Station – Gultekdi, Maharshinagar, Dias Plot; Bundgarden Police Station – Tadiwala Road; Duttawadi Police Station – Janata Vasahat, Parvati Darshan, Shiv Darshan; Yerwada Police Station – Lakshminagar, Gadital; Khadki Police Thane- Khadki Bazar, Kasai Mohalla, Patil Estate Slum; All areas under Kondhwa Police Station; Wanwadi Police Station- Vikasnagar, Sayyednagar, Ramtekdi, Ward No. 24, Handewadi, Ward No. 26 & 28.

The areas in Pune which were first sealed on April 7 and 14, essential commodities shops there are allowed to open between 10 am to noon. The areas which were sealed on April 20, the essential commodities shops are allowed to open between 10 am to 2 pm there. All areas under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have been declared as containment zone.
