Pune: CottonKing to manufacture and distribute cloth masks free of cost

Pune, April 13, 2020: Acknowledging the current situation where use of masks has been made compulsory by the Government, CottonKing, manufacturer of apparels for men has started making cloth masks at its production unit at Textile Park, Baramati.

 

“The production of cloth masks has already begun and 100% cotton is being used in its making. We intended to make about 10,000 masks per day and then distribute it absolutely free of cost among the personnel engaged in essential services”, said Koushik Marathe, Director, CottonKing.

 

“So far we have distributed approximately 17,000 masks in Baramati including Police Force, Municipality, work force in the textile park and other governmental organizations. Now, in the second phase we intend to distribute it in Pune city. We plan to produce about 1,00,000 (One  Lac)  cloth masks and undertake free distribution of the same among the work force of the state which is engaged in the fight against corona”, he added.

 

As per the information available till 7 pm today, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases has reached 325 in Pune district. 32 of them have died while 39 have been cured till now.

 

According to district health officer (DHO) Dr Bhagwan Pawar, out of 325, a total of 273 patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) areas, while 34 are from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) jurisdiction, 11 are from Pune rural (6 in Baramati, 2 in Haveli, 1 each from Junnar, Shirur and Mulshi), 6 are from Pune cantonment board (PCB) area, while 1 is from Khadki cantonment board (KCB) limit. The patient from Khadki is undergoing treatment at PCMC run YCM hospital in Pimpri. 12 people have been cured in PCMC and 27 from PMC have been cured.
