Pune: Counting Of Votes For Kasba Peth By-Elections To Take Place On 2nd March At Koregaon Park

Pune, 28th February 2023: The counting of votes for the Kasba Peth by-election, which is attracting the attention of the entire state, will be held on Thursday (2nd March) at the godown of the Food Corporation in the Koregaon Park area. Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik has issued preventive orders to prevent law and order problems in this area. Prohibitory orders will remain in force within 200 meters of the polling station till the counting process is completed.

Possession of weapons is prohibited in the counting centre area. Persons holding arms licenses are prohibited from carrying weapons too. The police, defence forces, prisons department, bank security department, and central and state government officials have been exempted.

The use of mobile sets and wireless telephone systems (cordless phones) is prohibited in the counting centre area. Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik said that the party workers are prohibited from using the loudspeaker system in the counting centre area.

Writing or pasting any printed material is also prohibited in the area. Vehicles other than government vehicles will not be allowed to enter this area, and only persons with official permission letters (passes) will be allowed to enter the counting centre.

After the counting of votes, the winning candidates are prohibited from taking out victory processions. Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik has mentioned in the order that action will be taken against those who violate the preventive order.
