Pimpri, 27th April 2023: The license inspectors of Sky Signs and Licensing Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) have been ordered to survey all iron billboards (hoardings) in the city and submit a report with photographs by April 28th. Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has warned the license inspectors that disciplinary and criminal action will be taken against them if illegal boards are found in the city after Friday.

The administration was alarmed after the hoarding tragedy in Kiwale. In addition to 434 illegal boards that are pending in court, 72 new illegal boards have been discovered, of which 65 hoardings have been removed.

Following the survey that exposed the existence of illegal billboards in the city, Commissioner Singh ordered the licensed inspectors of the Sky Sign Department to survey all the billboards in the city to prevent future accidents. The survey is expected to be completed between the 25th and 28th of April.

During the survey, the inspector must prepare a separate report with the number of hoardings, location, approved measurements, and actual measurements, along with photographs. After the report, Commissioner Singh, Additional Commissioner Jitendra Wagh, and Head of Department Nilesh Deshmukh will inspect all the boards on-site.

If discrepancies are found between the measurements in the report submitted by the inspectors and the actual inspection, or if illegal boards are discovered, the inspectors will be held accountable for deceiving the municipality. Vigilantes will face strict criminal and disciplinary action.
