Pune: Customer Alleges Zepto Delivered Hair Products Inside Colgate Packet

Hinjewadi, 26th August 2026: A customer from Hinjewadi Phase 3 has alleged that she received a tampered Colgate packet containing hair colour and hair lotion instead of toothpaste in a grocery delivery from Zepto, raising concerns over product quality and the handling of customer complaints.
Rohini Jadhav said she placed a grocery order through Zepto at around 6:30 am on Wednesday, August 26. While unpacking the delivery, she noticed that the Colgate packet appeared unusual, with what she described as a screw-like opening on the top.
Jadhav said she opened the packet to check the contents and found hair colour and hair lotion inside instead of Colgate toothpaste.
“I was shocked when I opened the Colgate packet and found hair colour and hair lotion inside instead of toothpaste. I had to open the packet to find out what was actually inside,” Jadhav said.
She immediately contacted Zepto customer care and was reportedly asked to return the parcel. However, according to Jadhav, when a delivery executive arrived to collect the order, he refused to accept it after seeing that the packet had been opened.
“When the delivery boy came to collect it, he refused to take the parcel back because I had opened it. I had a heated argument with him, but he still refused to accept the order,” she alleged.
Jadhav further claimed that this was not an isolated incident. She said she had previously received stale curd, expired bread and poor-quality pulses through Zepto deliveries.
“This is not the first time I have faced such an issue. I have repeatedly complained to customer care, but I have not received a proper response,” she alleged.
The allegations raise questions about product handling, quality checks and the return process for grocery deliveries. However, it is not independently established at what stage the Colgate packet was tampered with or how the contents were replaced.
