Pune: Daily PMPML Tourist Buses to Religious, Cultural Sites at Rs 500

Pune, 8th June 2025: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. (PMPML) launched two new tourist bus routes—Service Nos. 8 and 9—on Sunday, further boosting its popular low-cost tourism initiative aimed at connecting religious and cultural landmarks in and around Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The inauguration ceremony was held at 9 AM at the Deccan Bus Stand and was flagged off by PMPML Chairman and Managing Director, Deepa Mudhol-Munde. In addition to launching the new routes, a tourist bus under Service No. 6 was also introduced on the same occasion.
The new initiative received a positive response, with 151 tourists boarding the first set of buses—most of them women. Five buses in total were deployed, including two each for the new routes and one for an existing service.
Affordable and Accessible Tourism for All
Speaking at the launch, Mudhol-Munde said, “PMPML’s tourist bus service is receiving a growing response, especially from women travellers. These comfortable and affordable trips are designed to encourage more people to explore nearby destinations without hassle.”
The service uses eco-friendly, air-conditioned electric buses. Originally limited to weekends and public holidays, the service will now be available all seven days of the week—provided there are enough bookings.
