Pune: Dead Bodies of Man and Woman Found Semi-Nude in Pimpri-Chinchwad; Accused Nabbed Within an Hour
Dehu Road, 25th June 2025: In a shocking incident in Pimpri-Chinchwad, two semi-nude bodies, one of a man and the other of a woman, were found in an open plot in Talawade. The accused, who allegedly murdered the duo over an extramarital affair, was arrested by the Dehu Road Police within an hour.
Senior Police Inspector Vikram Bansode, in charge of the Dehu Road Police Station, said the accused has been identified as Dattatraya Laxman Sawale (49), a resident of Chikhali. The deceased have been identified as Mangala Suraj Tembhare (30), a resident of Amravati, and Jagannath Pundalik Sarode (55), a resident of Akola.
Police received a tip-off through Dial 112 around 3 am, after which the night patrol team of Dehu Road Police reached the location. According to Suraj Tembhare, husband of the deceased Mangala Tembhare, his wife and Sarode were drinking alcohol that night. Around 2 am, contractor Sawale informed him that the two were found half-naked in a pool of blood.
When police visited the scene, it was evident that the victims had been brutally crushed to death with a stone. Taking serious note of the case, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vishal Gaikwad and other senior officials visited the spot. Based on confidential information, the Dehu Road Police team arrested the accused from Chikhali within an hour.
