Pune, 13th August 2022: There are many forts in the Maval area. Many tourists come to visit them during the rainy season. At these forts, addicts are seen smoking cigarettes or throwing gutkha. Maval Adventure Charitable Trust has requested the Maval Tehsildar to ban the sale of gutkha, tobacco and cigarettes in the hotels and stalls located near the forts or on the fort road to prevent such evils.

The written statement was given to Tehsildar Madhusudan Berge of Vadgaon Maval on Friday (August 12). Trust President Vishwanath Javalikar, Mahesh Rakshe, Samir Waghwale, Sandesh Bhegde, Mahendra Aswale, Akash Watole, Nikhil Bhangre etc. were present on this occasion.

The majority of people visit these places just to pass their time with friends while having drinks and cigarettes. These people indulge in alcohol or other addictions freely in the fort itself. During this time, disputes have often arisen between local citizens and Shiva devotees. These disputes sometimes go to the police station. Also, women or families who come to visit the fort suffer from this.

“If we want to stop all these things, it is necessary to ban the sale of liquor, gutkha and cigarettes in the area. Therefore, the administration should look into this matter and maintain the sanctity of these areas by banning the sale of liquor, gutkha, cigarettes and tobacco in the area of caves, temples and forts in the Maval area,” requests Maval Adventure Charitable Trust.
