Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Advocates for Slum Rehabilitation Project in Nigdi

Nigdi, 24th September 2023: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar toured the Slum Rehabilitation Project in Sharadnagar and Durganagar, Nigdi, today. The project aims to provide housing for 670 slum residents and is overseen by the Nigdi Pradhikaran authority. Pawar expressed optimism that the initiative would garner attention from relevant authorities and elevate the city’s reputation.

Accompanying Pawar were Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Police Commissioner Vinay Choubey, and other dignitaries.

During his visit, Pawar inspected the residential flats, focusing on the solar energy system, security measures, and maintenance protocols. He also took note of the area’s tree plantation and water recharge initiatives. Pawar urged for cleanliness and the inclusion of local services within the project.

Pawar facilitated the transfer of flats to two deserving residents, emphasizing the need to utilize the building’s facilities efficiently. He encouraged beneficiaries to take an active role in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetics of the premises.

The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to introduce metro services to Nigdi, aiming to improve public transportation in the area.

In a separate event, Pawar visited the Shri Morya Gosavi Samadhi Temple to seek blessings and performed aarti for Lord Ganesha. He also toured various Ganesha mandals in Pimpri Chinchwad.
