Pune: Dhangar Samaj Youth Organization Blocks Road Demanding Inclusion In ST Category For Reservation
Uruli Devachi, 26th November 2023: In Maharashtra, a wave of protests has erupted as various communities, including Maratha, Dhangar, Lingayat, and Muslims, voice their demands for reservation. The Maharashtra State Dhangar Samaj Youth Organization have taken a notable step in their protest by blocking the Katraj Bypass Road at Mantarwadi Phata in Pune.
This act of civil disobedience involved leaving sheep and animals on the road, causing a significant disruption.
Under the leadership of Dhangar Samaj Youth Organization President Ghanshyam Bapu Hake, hundreds of activists have taken to the streets to advocate for the inclusion of the Dhangar community in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category. The protest has centred around the Mantarwadi Phata on the Pune-Saswad road, leading to a substantial traffic jam in the area.
