Pune District: Doctor, Nursing Staff Abused, Assaulted By Relatives At COVID Hospital

Indapur, 10th May 2021: A female medical officer working at Indapur sub-district hospital Covid centre was hit by the relatives of a patient on 8th May.

The relative alleged that their patient was not given proper treatment by the doctors. An FIR has been registered Sunil Chandrakant Rankhanbe and Ravi Chandrakant Rankhanbe at Indapur police station, Pune rural police.

According to police, Dr Shweta Sanmbhaji Kodak (23), who is working as a medical officer at Indapur sub-district hospital Covid centre, was on her regular duty at Covid ward with other nursing staff. At that time the two relatives forcefully entered the centre and alleged that the doctors are not treating their father properly.

They also verbally abused the medical officer and nursing staff present there and also hit the medical officer on duty. The case was registered by the police and further investigation is going on.
