Pune District Under Yellow Alert; Thunderstorms and Strong Winds Likely in Next Three Hours
Pune, 18th March 2026: The district administration has issued a yellow alert for Pune district on Tuesday, warning of possible thunderstorms and strong winds over the next three hours.
According to information available on the India Meteorological Department (IMD), weather conditions may turn unstable, with the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and hail in some parts of the district. Surface-level winds are also expected to intensify during this period.
Authorities have advised residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions, particularly while travelling or engaging in outdoor activities. People have been urged to avoid sheltering under trees, secure loose objects, and stay indoors during lightning or strong winds.
The alert was issued from the state administration in Mantralaya, Mumbai, based on real-time weather monitoring data from the IMD.
