Pune: Dive Ghat Road To Remain Closed For 2 Hours On October 6 For Blasting Work Under Alandi-Pandharpur Palkhi Highway Project
Pune, 5th October 2026: Commuters travelling on the Hadapsar–Dive Ghat route are advised to plan their journeys in advance as the Dive Ghat road will remain completely closed to traffic for two hours on October 6 due to scheduled blasting work.
According to a traffic advisory issued by the Pune City Traffic Branch, blasting will be carried out at Dive Ghat as part of road-widening work under the Alandi–Pandharpur Palkhi Highway project.
The traffic restriction will be in effect from 12 noon to 2 pm on October 6. During this period, vehicular movement on the Dive Ghat road will be completely suspended to facilitate the blasting operation and ensure the safety of commuters and workers at the site.
The road-widening work is being undertaken as part of infrastructure development along the Alandi–Pandharpur Palkhi Highway. The blasting operation is required for the ongoing work at the hilly stretch of Dive Ghat.
Commuters advised to use alternative routes
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has appealed to motorists and citizens to use alternative routes during the two-hour closure. Commuters travelling between Hadapsar and Dive Ghat have been advised to factor the restriction into their travel plans and avoid the affected stretch during the specified period.
The temporary closure is expected to affect motorists travelling through the route during the afternoon hours. Citizens have been urged to follow instructions issued by traffic police and personnel deployed near the work site.
Safety measures during blasting
The complete closure of the road during the blasting period is intended to prevent the movement of vehicles and people through the affected area while the operation is carried out. Motorists are requested not to attempt to enter the restricted stretch during the closure.
The Pune City Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the authorities and make necessary arrangements before beginning their journey.
Traffic movement is expected to resume after 2 pm, subject to completion of the blasting work and necessary safety checks at the site.
The traffic advisory was issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Pune City, on October 5.
