Pune Drug Bust: LSD Stamps, Charas and Hydroponic Ganja Worth Rs 5.48 Lakh Seized, Kasba Peth Youth Arrested

Kasba Peth, 2nd June 2026: In a major crackdown on drug peddling in the city, the Faraskhana Police in Pune arrested a 27-year-old youth and seized commercial-grade contraband, including LSD stamps, dry charas, and high-quality hydroponic ganja (marijuana), valued at ₹5.48 lakh. The seizure was made during a special combing operation conducted between the night of June 1 and the early hours of June 2, 2026.
Suspicious Moped Rider Intercepted in Kasba Peth
The operation was initiated following directives from senior police officers to crack down on drug consumption and illicit trafficking in Pune.
Under the guidance of Faraskhana Police Station’s In-charge, Senior Police Inspector Prashant Bhasme, a specialized patrolling team was deployed for a combing operation within the station’s jurisdiction. The team operated from 8:00 PM on Monday, June 1, until 2:00 AM on Tuesday, June 2.
While patrolling near Vishal Apartment on a public road in Kasba Peth, officers spotted a man riding a moped under highly suspicious circumstances. The police team intercepted the rider for questioning.
High-Value Contraband Recovered from Backpack
Upon searching the suspect, identified as Pushkar Subhash Pingat (27), a resident of Kasba Peth, Pune, the police recovered a blue backpack. A thorough search of the bag yielded a variety of illicit substances and packaging materials, including:
LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) Stamps: 29 units
Dry Charas (Hashish): 30 grams
Hydroponic Ganja (Premium Weed): 67 grams (mentioned as 68 grams in the press note’s headline)
Weighing Scales: 2 digital electric weighing scales
Packaging Materials: Multiple small and large plastic zip-lock bags used for portioning and distribution.
The total estimated street value of the confiscated narcotics and associated equipment stands at ₹5,48,000/-.
Case Registered Under NDPS Act
The accused, Pushkar Pingat, was taken into custody on the spot. A case has been officially registered against him under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, at the Faraskhana Police Station.
Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Santosh Gore has been appointed to lead the further investigation into the source of the drugs, the distribution network, and the suspect’s potential clientele in Pune.

The on-ground execution team was led by Senior PI Prashant Bhasme and PI (Crime) Shivprakash Mule, along with PSI Arvind Shinde and police personnel Nitin Telange, Vishal Shinde, Nitin Jadhav, Chetan Holkar, Tanaji Nangare, Santosh Nagare, Gajanan Sonune, Mahesh Pawar, Shashikant Nanaware, and Constable Sarika Gunjal.
