Pune: Drugs Worth Rs 11.88 Lakh Seized, Two Nigerians Held

Pune 16th Sept 2023: The Anti Narcotics Cell of Pune City Police has arrested two Nigerians from the city and have seized drugs worth Rs 11.88 lakh from their possession. The accused were arrested from Uruli Devachi area following inputs during a patrolling in the area on Friday.

According to the police, the officials of Anti Narcotics Cell had received information about a foreign national with a past criminal record selling drugs in the Uruli Devachi area along with his female friend. The police team laid a trap and the accused identified as Philip William Idele (49), a resident of Lagos Street, Nigeria who currently resides in Uruli Devachi area was apprehended. The police also apprehended his female friend who is also a foreign national and drugs were seized from their possession.

The seized drugs include 25.8 grams cocaine worth Rs 5,16,000, 12 Pills of Mephedrone weighing 5.5 grams worth Rs 1,10,000, 1.275 Kg of Catha Edulis drug worth Rs 1,02,000, 18.09 grams of Mephedrone worth Rs 3,78,000. The police have also found an electronic weighing machine in their possession which was used to weigh the drugs while selling it to the consumers.

A passport having citizenship of Cameroon country was also seized from their possession. A case under relevant sections has been registered at Loni Kalbhor Police Station against both accused and police are investigating further in the matter.
