Pune, 3rd January 2026: Departing from conventional high-decibel election campaigning, BJP candidate Ganesh Bidkar has adopted an exclusively door-to-door outreach strategy in Ward No. 24, which comprises densely populated and heritage areas such as Kasba Ganpati, Kamala Nehru Hospital and KEM Hospital.

Except for the final day of campaigning, Bidkar has avoided padayatras, roadshows, corner meetings and vehicle convoys. Instead, the focus has been on direct interaction with residents, with Bidkar personally reaching out to nearly 8,000 households so far. The approach aims to prevent traffic congestion in the narrow lanes of old Pune and to minimise noise and air pollution.

Party workers have dubbed the initiative the “Bidkar Pattern”, highlighting its emphasis on planned, low-impact campaigning. BJP functionary Nilesh Dhaykar said traditional processions along major roads often result in traffic snarls, loud sloganeering and the bursting of firecrackers, inconveniencing citizens. “Keeping this in mind, a systematic and people-friendly campaign strategy was adopted,” he said.

The groundwork for the campaign began even before the election schedule was announced, with BJP workers establishing direct contact with nearly 60,000 residents. In the second phase, outreach has been completed in around 5,000 of the 15,000 households in the ward. Dedicated teams of 10 workers are meeting prominent and influential residents in each locality on a daily
basis.

The campaign aims to cover another 10,000 households in the coming days. On the final day of campaigning, Bidkar, along with all BJP candidates from the ward, will undertake a joint procession, marking the only large public outreach event of the campaign.
