Pune: Electricity Outage Hits 1.42 Lakh Consumers in Hinjawadi Region Due to MahaTransco Tower Line Fault

Pune, 17th February 2025: A minor fault in the 220 KV Pirangut-Kandalgaon high-voltage tower line of MahaTransco led to a power outage affecting 1.42 lakh consumers in Pune on Monday. The disruption, which began at 11:50 AM, impacted 14 sub-stations of MSEDCL, cutting off electricity supply to several areas for 35 minutes.

According to officials, the fault affected MSEDCL’s Mulshi sub-station and 13 other sub-stations in the Hinjawadi region, leaving around 97,000 consumers in Mulshi, Bhugaon, Bhukum, Pirangut, Paud, Male, Mutha valley, Marunji, Jambhe, and Nere without power. Additionally, approximately 45,000 consumers, including 200 high-voltage customers in the Hinjawadi area, also faced outages.

MahaTransco responded swiftly, deploying emergency measures to restore the ultra-high voltage power line. By 12:25 PM, the power supply was fully reinstated across all affected areas.
