Pune Emerges as Co-working Hub, Recording Second-Highest Office Space Collaborations in India
Pune, 9th November 2024: Co-working office spaces in Pune have gained significant popularity over the past few years, leading to a notable rise in office space collaboration transactions. From 2018 to the end of September this year, Pune recorded 123 office space collaboration transactions, making it the second-largest city in the country for office space usage.
This data comes from a report by real estate consultancy firm Knight Frank, which analyzed office space collaboration across eight metropolitan cities: Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
Rather than establishing separate offices, many companies are opting for co-working spaces, prompting several large firms to offer co-working solutions to cater to multiple clients. Nationwide, a total of 912 office space collaboration transactions were recorded from 2018 to the end of September this year, with Bangalore accounting for 257 transactions, or 28%. Pune registered 123 of these transactions.
During the same period, the eight cities saw 153 large office space collaborations (above 80,000 square feet), with 47 occurring in Bangalore and 30 in Pune. For medium-sized transactions (40,000 to 80,000 square feet), there were 208 transactions in total, with 60 in Bangalore and 33 in Pune. Smaller transactions (up to 40,000 square feet) totaled 551, with 150 in Bangalore and 60 in Pune, according to the report.
