Pune: Enforcement Action Initiated Against Unauthorized Construction in Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th March 2024: Enforcement action has been initiated to address the ongoing unauthorized construction spanning approximately 10,300 square feet in the Indrayani river bed area behind Chikhali River Residency, falling under the jurisdiction of Zone C in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).
The initiative carried out under the direction of PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh and Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, saw the implementation of eviction measures on Saturday, March 16. Led by Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodade and Deputy Engineer Suryakant Mohite, along with Junior Engineer Kiran Sagar, Rachna Dalvi, and Civil Engineering Assistants Nikita Phadtare and Smita Gavane, municipal employees, the Maharashtra Security Force, and the Maharashtra Police collaborated to execute the operation.
This action aimed to address the encroachment of about 10,300 square feet of RCC construction within Ward No.02 in the Chikhali/Jadhavwadi area. The operation, involving teams from the C Zonal Office, the Maharashtra Security Force, and the Maharashtra Police, took place on March 16, 2024.
The PCMC emphasizes the importance of preventing unauthorized activities such as the parking of abandoned vehicles on roads, erecting unauthorized hoardings, letter sheds, banners, and littering. Citizens are urged to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness, particularly by refraining from unauthorized construction or littering without prior permission from the PCMC.
PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has warned against unauthorized constructions in riverbeds and other areas, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against violators.
