Pune: Family Shocked To Get ‘Vaccination Completed’ Message Without Getting The Vaccine
Narhe, 7th May 2021: A family, who has registered themselves for vaccination through the Cowin app received a notification on Thursday (6th May) that they have completed the vaccination. In reality, the family couldn’t get a vaccine due to vaccine shortage. This is a strange incident, said a family member.
Speaking about this Atul Bhide said, “My father (age 88), mother (age 86), and father-in-law (age 88) have registered for their second dose of vaccine. They were allotted a slot on 30th April between 11 am to 1 pm at Sinhgad College, Narhe. I went to the centre along with them at 11:45 am. At that time many people were standing in queue to get vaccinated.
I showed the appointment letter to the vaccination officer, but he said that I have to stand in a queue. So I waited for my turn. After some time the officer declared that the vaccines are over and no more vaccination will be done today. I brought my family back home. After returning home when I checked the app for my next appointment, it showed that my family members have already taken the dose. Now I could not register for another appointment.”
In this regard, activist Sandip Khardekar said, “The administration should declare the details of vaccines distributed to each vaccination centre. Also, the preference should be given to those who have an appointment through the Cowin app. The administration must take effective majors to avoid inconvenience to the citizens who want to get vaccinated.”
