Pune: Father-Daughter Duo Among Three Killed in Road Accident
Shirur, 24th March 2025: A devastating accident on the Nhavara-Talegaon road near Nhavara, Shirur, claimed the lives of three people, including a father and his daughter, while one woman sustained critical injuries. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on Sunday (March 23).
The deceased have been identified as Kailash Krishnaji Gajkwad (49) and his daughter Gauri Kailash Gajkwad (20), both residents of Nimbalakar Wasti, Nhavara, Shirur Taluka, Pune district, along with Ganesh Mahadev Nirlakar (25), a resident of Kokanagav, Shrigonda Taluka, Ahilyanagar district. Durga Kailash Gajkwad (48), who was critically injured, is currently undergoing treatment.
According to the police, Kailash Gajkwad was driving back to Nhavara from Wagholi with his wife, daughter, and brother-in-law when their car was hit by a container near Sandip Sarake’s house. The container, coming from the opposite direction, collided forcefully with their vehicle, resulting in the deaths of Kailash, Gauri, and Ganesh on the spot. Durga Gajkwad sustained severe injuries in the crash.
The driver of the container fled the scene after the accident. A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Ravindra Mahadev Sonawane (38), a resident of Nhavara. The investigation is being supervised by Police Inspector Sandesh Kenjale, while Police Constable Bote is conducting the inquiry.
