Sandip Mukherjee, President, Nandanik Sanstha (‘Nandanik’), informed, “Nandanik is truly blessed to be able to celebrate Sarbojonin Durgotsav for the last 23 years in Pune. There are essentially four pillars that define Nandanik Sanstha’s Durgotsav each year, viz., (i) Ma Durga’s Puja rituals; (ii) Bhog Prasad distribution; (iii) Culture & Entertainment; and (iv) Social & Charitable projects.”
He further elaborated, “Durga Puja is an extremely complex puja, involving traditional norms and rituals that need to be strictly followed. We are very mindful, religiously rigid and particular about compliance in these aspects. We are well aware that lots of devotees come to our Puja; Bengalis as well as non-Bengalis. Therefore, we want to ensure that the Puja that they witness and participate in, is authentic and ritualistic, to provide much-needed peace of mind & sanctity of conscience, that every devotee seeks. The biggest attraction of our Puja is Ma Durga’s royal placement within the spacious hall premises and the tireless effort that our team puts in decorating the idol. We make sure that the idol is completely environment friendly, as per the rules of PMC and other local authorities. We also make sure that all requisite permissions and compliances in terms of idol decoration, waste management, fire safety, traffic regulation, health, hygiene, cleanliness, noise management etc are taken up seamlessly and on priority, such that we are fully compliant, with zero-non-compliance.”
He also added, “In Maharashtra Durgotsav would be incomplete if you have not tasted the bhog prasad and distributing the same to our devotees is a blessing that we have always been grateful and feel blessed to execute smoothly. Our endeavour has always been to encourage and involve artistes that are either in-house or locally from in and around from Pune, for all our cultural programs. We are proud to have immense talent that needs to be tapped and promoted. We carry similar thoughts vis-à-vis the variety of stalls that are set up in our Puja Pandal, where we encourage local entrepreneurs and food outlets to deploy their wares, uplifting the venue into a grand carnival.”
Like each year, this year too, the cultural & entertainment programmes organised by Nandanik shall have a mix of music, dance, drama and literature. But, this year is special as Bengalis across the world are celebrating the birth centenary of legendary Bengali actor Uttam Kumar.
Given below is the list of cultural programs that we have scheduled during this year’s Durgotsav.

We have arranged many food & non-food stalls this year. The visitors at Rohi Villa Palace can fulfil their seasonal gifting and Diwali shopping needs from the various stalls showcasing sarees, jewellery, home décor and handicrafts. Durga Puja and Bengali cuisine go hand in hand and keeping that sentiment intact, we have planned a variety of food stalls that the devotees can choose from and indulge in. Like every year, besides the local and branded food outlets, we shall have the famous Pratap Caterers of Mumbai, who shall set up their vast repertoire of food varieties, along with a large team of expert chefs from Bengal, specially brought, to satiate the taste buds of all Bengali Food lovers of Pune.
