Pune: FIR registered against Bridegroom for violating wedding protocols in lockdown

Pune, June 29,2020: A viral video of the groom dancing to the music played by the DJ, accompanied by his friends who were also without masks and valid permit resulted in legal action. This incident happened in a peace-loving village, Morachi-Chincholi in Shirur taluka of Pune district having the highest number of peacocks. Eventually, the police had to file a case against 25 relatives of the groom along with the parents of the bride and groom.

 

Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram has allowed only 50 people to attend the wedding. Besides, masks and sanitizers are recommended. However, the family did not seek any permission.

 

The video of the groom and his friends shaking their heads at the DJ’s beat went viral, and then the police finally had to take action. No one seems to be wearing a mask, including the bride, along with no social distancing being practiced.

 

Shirur Police Station police inspector Praveen Khanapure said that the incident took place on June 25 at Anand Krushi Parytan Kendra during the marriage ceremony of Ganesh Appasaheb Thopte. No one practiced social distancing and nobody had masks on. Moreover, the DJ wasn’t allowed to be played. A case has been registered against 25 people, including the bride and groom’s parents.
