Pune: Fire at ‘Suraksha Door’ Godown in Loni Kalbhor; No Injuries Reported

Loni Kalbhor, 14th December 2023: A fire incident occurred at the “Suraksha Door” warehouse located on Solapur Road, Loni Kalbhor, at 5:30 am today. The godown, specializing in security door manufacturing and wooden goods, caught fire, prompting a response from three fire brigade vehicles, including one from PMRDA and two from PMC. Despite the intensity of the blaze, no injuries were reported.

The fire broke out around 5:30 am at the godown, which houses a variety of wooden goods, including products manufactured by “Suraksha Door.” Fortunately, no one was present on the premises at the time, averting any loss of life or injuries. However, the fire posed a significant challenge due to the combustible nature of the stored wooden materials.

Three fire brigade vehicles, including one from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and two from the PMC Central Fire Brigade, were dispatched to the scene to control the fire. The presence of wooden materials made the operation challenging, necessitating a swift and coordinated effort.

Vijay Mahajan, Fire Brigade Officer from PMRDA, provided insights into the incident, stating, “No one was present when the fire broke out. It was neighbours who noticed the smoke and promptly informed us. Our teams reached the location swiftly, but due to darkness and the presence of smoke, it took time to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, there was minimal damage. While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, our preliminary assessment suggests it might be related to a short circuit.”
