Pune, 13th January 2025: A fire broke out in a housing society in Pune’s Kondhwa area earlier this morning when a vehicle caught fire in the parking lot. The flames spread to the first and second-floor flats of the building. The residents managed to escape, and a serious accident was averted with no injuries reported.

The incident occurred at Natasha Enclave Society, located on NIBM Road in Kondhwa. At around 3:30 am, the fire brigade received information about a two-wheeler that had caught fire on the society premises. Fire brigade personnel quickly rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the firefighters noticed that the flames had reached the balconies on the first and second floors of the building. Natasha Enclave Society consists of five-storey buildings. Materials in the balconies were burning, and smoke was visible. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the firefighters ensured that no one was trapped in the apartments before proceeding to control the fire by spraying water.

During the operation, the firefighters removed a gas cylinder from one of the flats after noticing a leak. They promptly stopped the leak, averting a potential disaster thanks to their quick thinking.

The fire was brought under control by officers from Kondhwa Fire Station, including Kailash Shinde, Deepak Kachre, Nilesh Lonkar, Mohan Sanas, Anurag Patil, and Ramraj Bagal.

Kailash Shinde, Officer-in-Charge of Kondhwa Fire Station, stated, “The fire was brought under control due to the precautionary measures taken by our personnel. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. We averted a serious accident by stopping the gas leak from a cylinder in one of the flats.”
