Pune, May 8, 2020: A driver with Pune Fire Brigade has been reported Coronavirus positive. Chief Fire Officer Prashant Ranapise confirmed the news and said that a search was on for people in contact with the infected patient. Other firemen who came in contact with him are also being traced. All of them will be medically examined and quarantined.

There have been several cases of corona infection in police and SRPF personnel in Pune and other parts of the state, but this is the first case of a firefighter being infected with corona. Information is also being gathered on the exact source of the coronavirus infection.
