Pune: Fire Damages 3 Autorickshaws in Nigdi

Nigdi, 29th March 2024: A rickshaw bearing registration MH 12 NW 2182 was engulfed in flames, and completely burnt at PCMC Colony, Nigdi. Additionally, the body covers of two other rickshaws with registrations MH 14 HM 0200 and MH12 QE 9729 caught fire. The blaze was successfully extinguished by dousing the affected rickshaws with water and cooling methods.

Fortunately, due to the vigilance of Sushil Chavan, a Trainee Fireman residing nearby, the fire did not spread to other rickshaws, averting a potential disaster. Fire Officials present at the scene included Sampat Gound, Amol Ranjane, Anil Mane, Vishal Pote, Shubham Pimple, and Niranjan Lokhande. Prompt action by the fire brigade ensured the fire was brought under control, preventing further escalation.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, prompting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
