Pune: Fire Engulfs Scrap Godown in Mohammadwadi, Prompt Response Averts Disaster

Mohammadwadi, 29th April 2024: Around 07:52 AM today, a fire erupted at a scrap godown located in Mohammadwadi, Syednagar, Galli No. 05. Upon receiving the report, the control room dispatched a fire engine from Kaleborate Nagar, Kondhwa Khurd, along with a water tanker from Kondhwa Budruk Fire Station. Three vehicles were mobilized promptly to the spot.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames engulfing a one-storey warehouse housing scrap materials, emitting thick plumes of smoke. With the godown securely locked, firefighters utilized a bolt cutter to gain entry, swiftly containing the blaze and preventing its escalation.

No casualties were reported, and all individuals were safely evacuated from the vicinity. However, the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, with a significant amount of debris consumed by the inferno near the godown.

The successful operation was conducted under the leadership of Fire Officer Anil Gaikwad, alongside Driver Utkarsh Tilekar, and firefighters Tandel Mahendra Kulal, Rahul Bandal, Vijay Chavan, Mahesh Phadtare, Sanket Shinde, Paresh Pawar, Prasad Shinde, and Santosh Mane.
