Pimpri Chinchwad, 12th February 2025: Five students from A.S.S.P.M International School and Jr. College in Thergaon, Pimpri-Chinchwad, missed their 12th-grade Maharashtra State Board examination yesterday due to not receiving their hall tickets. The incident has cost them an academic year and led their parents to file a police complaint against the college administration.
The students, enrolled in the Arts stream for the current academic year, were informed on the morning of the exam that their hall tickets had not been issued due to incomplete documentation. This last-minute revelation shocked both students and parents, who claim they had paid approximately Rs. 30,000 each in fees to the college.
Parents allege that the college assured them throughout the year that their children would pass, despite irregular classes. When other colleges began distributing hall tickets in the days leading up to the exam, ASSPM College repeatedly told inquiring students to remain patient, stating their hall tickets would arrive.
On the day of the exam, the affected students arrived at the college at 6 AM, only to be turned away due to the missing hall tickets. Furious parents immediately filed a complaint at Kalewadi Police Station against Sanjay Lokhande, the head of the school.
Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Bahirat, in charge of Kalewadi Police Station, stated, “We need to investigate the legitimacy of ASSPM College, verify the documents, and determine why the hall tickets were not issued. Appropriate action will be taken in this matter.”
One of the affected students voiced their frustration, saying, “Classes were not conducted properly throughout the year. The college kept assuring us we would pass. They threatened to withhold our hall tickets unless we paid the full fees. On exam day, they suddenly claimed our documents were incomplete. We’ve lost an entire year.”
