Shivajinagar, 18th July 2023: In a bid to enhance connectivity and passenger convenience, a footpath will be developed to connect the Vanaj-Ramwadi metro line with the Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi metro line, approved by the Pune Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (PUMTA). The project is estimated to cost three crores rupees, with equal funding contributions from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

The convergence of Pune’s Vanaj-Ramwadi and Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate routes, along with PMRDA’s Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi route, will take place at Shivajinagar. Presently, there is a distance of 150 meters between the Mahametro and PMRDA metro stations, causing inconvenience for passengers who have to disembark from one station and walk to the other.

To address this issue, the footpath will serve as a seamless connection between the Pune Metro and PMRDA Metro stations. Not only will this save passengers time, but it will also eliminate their inconvenience, creating a smoother travel experience.
