Pune: Foreign Liquor Worth Rs 1.70 Crore Seized, 7 Persons Arrested

Pune, 29th December 2022: In an action by the State Excise Department, foreign liquor worth around Rs 1.70 crore has been seized. In this operation, the department seized two trucks and more than 2,000 boxes of liquor. Seven people have also been arrested.
Charan Singh Rajput, Superintendent of State Excise Department, Pune, said, “When these containers left Goa, they had large seals; containers with such seals are not usually inspected internally. Seven accused from three states – Maharashtra, Goa, and Rajasthan – are currently in custody.”
“Information about where this stock was going to go from Goa state via Pune is yet to be received. It has also been informed that another team of police will work to investigate this further,” he added.
