Pune: Former Bhosari Corporator Ajit Gavhane Rejoins NCP: Vilas Lande’s Humorous Jab Gets Ajit Pawar’s Response

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 17th June 2025: Today, the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held a meeting in Bhosari, Pimpri-Chinchwad. Former corporator Ajit Gavhane, who had left the party before the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections to contest from the Bhosari Assembly seat under the Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) faction, officially returned to Ajit Pawar’s NCP.
Ajit Pawar welcomed and congratulated him.
Commenting on Gavhane’s return, Ajit Pawar said, “Ajit Gavhane was physically there but mentally with us. He never truly felt like he was elsewhere. His return has strengthened the NCP.”
Addressing potential disputes between old members and returnees, Pawar added, “There will be no conflict between new and old members. There is a strong possibility of a four-member ward. Contact should be increased in the ward.”
Former Bhosari MLA Vilas Lande jokingly teased Ajit Gavhane during his speech. Responding with humor, Ajit Pawar said, “Vilas Lande always says these things when someone returns. I’ve told Ajit Gavhane many times not to take Lande seriously.”
Pawar further stated, “We want to remind the people of Pimpri-Chinchwad of the good work from earlier days. We aim to provide transparent governance and eliminate corruption. Today, we hear stories of corruption — we’ve seen how things were then and how they are now.”
