Pune: Four deaths due to Coronavirus at Sassoon Hospital, total 6 in last 24 hours in Pune

Pune, April 14, 2020: There have been four more deaths due to Coronavirus in Pune today and with this the total death count has reached six in the last 24 hours. Four of out of three deceased are women.

According to officials the deceased persons include a 50-year-old woman from Kondhwa, who also suffered from hypertension. Another 42-year-old woman from Kondhwa, had hypertension and Asthma, while a 77-year-old woman from Ghorpadi Gaon had hypertension, hypothyroidism,  and acute kidney injury. A 27-year-old youth from Parvati Darshan, had alcoholic liver disease.

As per the latest information available, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases has reached 330 in Pune district. 36 of them have died while 39 have been cured till now. Today two more positive cases have been found in Pimpri-Chinchwad area.

As the number of Coronavirus positive cases is rising day by day in Pune, PMC has declared a health emergency and sealed some parts of Kondhwa and all Peth areas from Mahrishinagar to RTO in the first phase. Now Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to seal 22 more areas in the second phase, where COVID19 patients have been found. PMC Municipal Corporation Shekhar Gaikwad issued an order yesterday to seal the following areas :

1) Private Road Patrachawl, lanes 1 to 48 and Tadiwala Road ward 20
2) Whole Tadiwala road
3) Ghorpadi Village, Vikasnagar, Balajinagar, Srivastavnagar ward 2
4) Rajewadi, Padmaji Police Post, Old Motor Stand, Sant Kabir, AD Camp Chowk, Quarter Gate, Bhavani Peth ward 20
5) Vikasnagar, Wanowrie village
6) Lumbini Nagar, Tadiwala Road
7) Chintamaninagar Handewadi Road Ward Nos. 26 & 28
8) Ghorpadi Village, B.T. Kawade road
9) Whole Laxminagar, Ramnagar Jai Jawan Nagar, Yerwada Ward 8
10) Parvati Darshan areas
11) Samrat Hotel to Patkar Plot old Pune-Mumbai highway to Bhoslewadi, Labor Commissioner’s Office, Railway on the left and right side Narvir Tanajiwadi Chowk to Old Shivajinagar ST Stand, Patel Tiles, Vikram Tiles, Irani Vasti Survey No. 11 The area on the backside of Masjid to subway Narvir Tanajiwadi. In these sealed areas barricades will be put up and people will not be allowed to move out for the next few days (deadline not declared). Police will be deployed to take action against people who violate this complete shutdown or lockdown rule. All these steps are being taken as per containment plan to deal with Coronavirus outbreak. People engaged in essential services will be allowed to move out or move in these areas. Essential commodities shops will remain open. All residents have to wear mask.

Areas sealed in first phase

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials, the areas sealed in first phase from April 7 are Mahrishinagar, Gultekdi, Sahakarnagar, Parvati, Dattawadi, Marketyard, Swargate, Guruwar Peth, Shukrawar Peth, Ganesh Peth, Bhavani Peth, Kasewadi, Ghorpade Peth, Mominpura, Nana Peth, Raviwar Peth, Rasta Peth, Somwar Peth, Mangalwar Peth, Kasba Peth, Shaniwar Peth, Sadashiv Peth, Narayan Peth, some parts of Camp to Regional Transport Office (RTO), and some parts of Kondhwa.
