Pune, 25th October 2022: A gang of thieves who robbed Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) passengers were arrested by the Crime Branch. Rs 3.5 lakh has been seized from the thieves.

 

Santosh Sharanappa Jadhav (38), Amit Nana Chavan (27), and Vinod Bajrang Gaikwad (34), all the residents of Manjari Budruk have been arrested. A minor has also been detained in this case. An accomplice of the thieves is being searched by the police.

A gang of thieves robbed jewellery and cash from passengers in Swargate PMPML station area and was being investigated by Unit Two of the Crime Branch. The police got information that a gang of thieves stopped at the Swargate area. After that, the police caught the thieves by laying a trap. Three crimes have been revealed by the thieves and Rs 3.5 lakh has been seized from them.

 

Under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police Gajanan Tompe, Senior Police Inspector Kranti Kumar Patil, Assistant Inspector Vaishali Bhosale, Vishal Mohite, Rajendra Patole, Nitin Kamble, Shankar Nevse, Ujwal Mokashi, Nikhil Jadhav, etc carried out the operation.
