Pune: Gas Leak Triggers Fire in Aundhgaon House; One Person Injured

Aundh, 28th May 2025: A 38-year-old man sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out in a house at Junawane Residency near the Gurudwara in Aundh village around 12 noon on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The incident was reportedly caused by a gas leak from a cylinder in the kitchen.

The injured person, identified as Dattatray Kisan Bhandalkar, was found inside the burning house by firefighters from the Aundh Fire Station, who responded promptly to the emergency call. Fire personnel rescued Bhandalkar in an injured condition and rushed him to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.

The fire had engulfed the kitchen and bedroom, causing significant damage to both areas. Firefighters also safely removed two gas cylinders from the bedroom to prevent any explosions. The blaze was brought under control and completely extinguished soon after.
Officials confirmed that the cause of the fire was a gas leak, and further investigation is underway to assess the extent of the damage and ensure safety measures.
