Pune: Gaurav Ahuja Sent to Yerwada Jail in BMW Obscenity Case

Yerwada, 11th March 2025: Gaurav Ahuja, accused of creating a public disturbance by making obscene gestures and urinating in public at a traffic signal in Pune’s Yerawada area, has been sent to judicial custody by the Pune Sessions Court.

This decision follows a previous order granting him a day’s police custody. Ahuja’s lawyer has filed a bail application, which is currently pending.

The incident, which occurred on a Saturday morning at Shastri Nagar Chowk in Yerawada, was captured on video and widely shared on social media. Ahuja was arrested by police in Karad. The case also involves another individual, Bhagyesh Oswal, who was earlier sent to judicial custody.

The court heard arguments from both sides before deciding on Ahuja’s judicial custody. The incident drew significant public attention due to its obscene nature and the fact that it occurred on International Women’s Day.
