Pune: Giantz ‘A’ ride on Nikhil effort
Pune, 26 May 2022: Giantz ‘A’ aided by a hat-trick by Nikhil Shelar scored a huge 9-1 win NDA Youth Sports Club in a Second Division encounter of the Poona District Football Association (PDFA) League 2021-22, here on Friday.
Overall, the day witnessed one-sided matches in the Second Division matches at the SSPMS ground, with Giantz impressing most. Other easy winners of the day were National Youth F.A and Rahul F.A.
In Pool-B, Giantz went ahead through Nikhil (1st) who added goals in the 11th and 29th minutes respectively. Jeevan Nalge (9th), Aadesh Sonkamble (14th, 58th), Akshay Kadu (15th), Abhijeet Mhaswade (37th, 53rd) were the other scorers. NDA Youth Sports Club pulled one back through a penalty-kick conversion by Harikrishna (48th).
In the same pool, National Youth F.A silenced Bopodi F.A 4-1 after Dhananjay Ladkat (10th), Tanmay Ingle (12th), and a brace by Vaibhav Joshi (35th, 59th) was enough. Stephen Kate (22nd) scoffed for the losers.
Similarly, Rahul F.A overcame Greenbox Chetak ‘B’ 3-0. A Shende (18th) opened the scoring and then a brace by Sashank Tiwari (42nd, 57th) gave Rahul F.A full points.
At SP College, in the Third Division Puneri Warriors hammered Conscient F.A 7-0 in Pool-F. Vivek Ghenand (3rd), Aditya Nalawade (8th), Omkar Rasal (12th), Sanket Dongare (27th), Priyesh Pathan (40th), Maharana Ranade (51st), Piyush Kulkarni (60+1st) scored.
In a Pool-D encounter, Ashoka XI were held by Khadki Blues 1-1 : Shrikant Mahadik (15th) netted for Ashoka Xi before Shoaib Salmani (21st) leveled out the game.
