Wanwadi, 8th September 2026: Inspired by Mumbai’s unique tradition of welcoming Ganesh idols with grand processions days before Ganeshotsav, Swami Vivekanand Mandal in Wanwadi village organised a spectacular procession to mark the arrival of Lord Ganesha.

The grand procession commenced from Shrimant Mahadji Shinde Chowk in Jagtap Nagar, with devotees and Mandal members participating enthusiastically. The atmosphere was filled with energy as members danced to the powerful beats of the dhol-tasha troupe of Samrajya Pratishthan. The thunderous sound of drums, rhythmic tasha beats and chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” echoed across the locality.

A large number of residents gathered to witness the vibrant celebrations and welcome Lord Ganesha. The entire area was immersed in an atmosphere of devotion and festivity as Ganaraya received a grand and traditional welcome.

The initiative, inspired by Mumbai’s popular Ganeshotsav traditions, has introduced a unique pre-festival celebration in Wanwadi and is expected to add a new dimension to the area’s Ganeshotsav festivities.
