Pune: Grandmother Killed By Grandson For Money And Jewellery, Cuts Body Into Pieces

Pune,7th September 2022: A shocking incident took place in the Mundhwa area where a 20-year-old youth brutally murdered a grandmother for money and jewellery. After killing his grandmother, the grandson cut the body into pieces using a cutter.

 

He then tried to destroy the evidence by dumping the organs in different areas. The father of the accused was also arrested by Mundhwa police.

 

The murdered woman has been identified as Usha Vitthal Gaikwad (age 62, resident of Mhasobanagar, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa). His son Sandeep Vitthal Gaikwad (age 42) resident of Gurukripa Society, Keshavnagar, and grandson Sahil alias Guddu Sandeep Gaikwad (age 20) has been arrested.

 

In this regard, Usha’s daughter Sheetal Manoj Kamble Resident of Lohgaon lodged a complaint about her mother’s disappearance at Mundhwa Police Station. Sheetal had expressed the suspicion that Sahil and brother Sandeep had kidnapped and killed her mother in the prosecution.

 

Sandeep Gaikwad is a party official. Sandeep was informed that his son Sahil had killed his mother and destroyed the evidence. The police said that he had hidden this information from the police. Usha lived alone, the house where Sahil lived was in the name of his grandmother. She was asking Sahil and his father to leave the house because of which Sahil was angry with his grandmother. Last month, when Usha slept at home in the afternoon; Sahil strangulated the sleeping grandmother.

 

After that, he stole the mobile set from her. The mobile was placed in the Kasewadi area of Bhawani Peth. He faked his grandmother’s disappearance to mislead the police and brought electric cutters used for cutting trees from the Juna Bazar area. Using a cutter, he stuffed the pieces of the grandmother’s body into a sack and dumped the pieces of the body at the garbage depot area of Mundhwa Keshavnagar area, Mula-Mutha riverbed and also in Theur area.

 

The matter is being investigated by the police. According to the information obtained during the investigation, Sahil and his father were detained.

 

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Namrata Patil, Assistant Commissioner Bajrang Desai, Senior Police Inspector Brahmanand Naikwadi, Crime Branch Police Inspector Pradeep Kakade, Assistant Inspector Sameer Karpe, Sub Inspector Dhananjay Gade, Avinash Marathe, Santosh Jagtap, Raju Kadam, Vaibhav More, Dattaram Jadhav, Mahesh Pathak, Dinesh Bhandurge etc. took this action. First Class Magistrate Chetan Jagtap has ordered to keep both of them in police custody.
