Pune: Guardians To Face Charges After Minors Caught For Reckless Motorcycle Driving Without License

Vadgaon, 25th March 2024: During today’s Nakabandi (checking) at Tukai Nagar Circle, Sinhagad Road police station (Pune City Police), two juveniles were nabbed for reckless motorcycle driving without a valid license and were found to be below 18 years of age.

DCP (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam told Punekar News, “The police have seized the motorcycles and registered an offence under Section 3, 5 read with 199 A of the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act 1988 against the guardian and owner of the vehicles. As per Section 199 A, parents will be prosecuted, with punishment including imprisonment for up to 3 years along with a fine of Rs 25,000.”

He further added, “Additionally, a report has been submitted to the RTO Pune for the suspension of vehicle registration for one year, and the juveniles will be prohibited from obtaining a driving license until the age of 25 years as per provisions of the MV Act.”
