Pune, October 30, 2020: In yet another assault, a secretary and a woman vice-president of a housing society were allegedly beaten up for stopping illegal construction in a co-operative housing society on Tuesday.

The incident took place at the Hari Ganga Society near Phulenagar. Yerawada police have registered a case against resident Pratap Saluke and his nine accomplices, based on a complaint by the secretary of the society, Kapil Pandey (43).

According to police, Pratap has a flat on the first floor of the society and had started building an illegal room on his house’s balcony, apart from the plan approved by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Stopping him from building the room illegally, secretary Pandey had gone to meet him along with the members of the society. Pandey demanded that the construction work should be stopped immediately. Angered by this, Pratap called his companions. He insulted and beat up Kapil, the female vice-president and other members.

Assistant Police Inspector Balabhim Nanavare is further investigating the matter.
