Kalyani Nagar, 7th June 2024: Following the tragic Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident in Pune, where a drunk minor caused the deaths of two young IT engineers with a speeding car, several disturbing revelations have surfaced. The swift granting of bail to the minor accused within 15 hours, with minimal disciplinary action, sparked national outrage.

Following this, the owners and employees of Pubs and Clubs, where the minor was served alcohol before the accident, also faced scrutiny. Pune District Collector Dr Suhas Diwase suspended the licenses of many pubs and now a hearing is going on for getting back the licenses.

Amidst mounting criticism from politicians and public outcry, Meenal Sarwade, former Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) corporator, has penned a letter to Pune District Collector, highlighting the aftermath of the incident.

In her letter, Sarwade stressed the importance of recognizing the citizens of Kalyani Nagar as affected parties. She urged Dr Diwase to provide citizens with an opportunity to voice their concerns before granting the bar licenses.
