Pune: Hillside Grassfire Sparks Alert on NDA Road, No Damage Reported
Chandani Chowk, 17th November 2025: A fire broke out on a hillside near the NDA Road behind Garden Court Hotel on Monday evening, prompting a swift response from the Chandni Chowk Fire Station. The incident, reported as a grassfire, occurred around 6.17 pm on November 17, 2025.
According to officials, a fire brigade team was immediately dispatched to the spot. The fire engine left the station at 6.17 pm and returned by 7.01 pm after completing the operation.
Firefighters used hose lines and fire beaters to control and extinguish the blaze. The team ensured that no hotspots remained before concluding the operation. Officials confirmed that there was no further risk in the area after the fire was put out.
The team was led by in-charge officer Sunil Name, along with Tandel Chandrakant Gawde and driver Gogavale. Firefighters Pandharinath Ubhe, Sanket Karande, Shivkumar Mane, Shridhar Yadav, Manoj Gayakwad, Rakesh Naiknavare, and Sahil Padye were part of the response team.
