Pune Hospital Successfully Removes Massive 25cm Leg Tumor From 50 Year Old Patient

Pune, 27th December 2023: – In a remarkable medical triumph, DPU Private Super Specialty Hospital in Pune achieved a significant breakthrough by effectively excising a malignant 25cm tumor from the leg of a 50-year-old individual, preserving both the patient’s life and limb.


Raghunath Gawde, an auto-rickshaw driver from Pune, discovered a lump on his left leg, causing persistent discomfort during movement and a noticeable swelling. Admitted to the hospital on 9th November 2023, he revealed enduring six months of distress before seeking medical assistance, only escalating when it began impeding his daily routine. Diagnosed as a cancerous growth, doctors expressed concerns regarding the likelihood of leg amputation due to the tumor’s encroachment on vital nerves, substantially reducing chances of limb preservation.
