Pune: Hotel Owner and Worker Attacked in Velhe Following Old Rivalry, Police Arrest Two Accused
Pune, 25 May 2026: A hotel owner and an employee were allegedly attacked with a pistol and sharp weapons following a dispute in the Kodavadi Phata area of Velhe taluka on Sunday night. The assailants allegedly opened fire from a pistol and attacked the two with a koyta, leaving both injured. Police have arrested two accused who had fled after the incident.
Velhe police have registered a case against the attackers. The injured have been identified as hotel owner Mhasku Tanaji Daswadkar and hotel worker Dashrath Shilimkar. Both are undergoing treatment at a private hospital and are stated to be in stable condition.
The arrested accused have been identified as Omkar Suresh Ingulkar (19) and Vishal Appa Ingulkar (24), residents of Surwad village in Velhe taluka of Pune district.
According to police, the accused and their associates had an argument with Daswadkar, owner of Hotel Shrinath in the Kodavadi Phata area, four to five days before the attack. Around 10 pm on Sunday, the accused and their accomplices allegedly entered the hotel and again started arguing with Daswadkar.
Police said the accused threatened Daswadkar with a pistol and fired a shot in the air. During the altercation, hotel worker Dashrath Shilimkar attempted to intervene. The attackers then allegedly assaulted both Daswadkar and Shilimkar with a koyta, injuring them seriously.
After receiving information about the incident, a team from Velhe police station rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. The two accused were later detained.
Rural superintendent of police Sandeepsingh Gill said the identities of the accomplices involved in the attack have also been established and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.
