While speaking in a program at Paithan on Monday, Patil made a controversial statement about Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, Mahatma Phule, and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Against this backdrop, anger is being expressed from all over Maharashtra.

Patil has come to Pimpri-Chinchwad city on Tuesday. Shriman Mahasadhu Shri Morya Gosavi Samadhi Festival in Chinchwad is starting today. The organisers announced on Thursday that it will be inaugurated by Patil.

Meanwhile, there was tension at the inauguration venue due to Patil’s controversial speech at Paithan. Sambhaji Brigade had warned that “Patil will not be allowed to keep his foot in the city.” Against this backdrop, there was a heavy police presence at the venue.

Patil came to the temple area around 5 pm. Before proceeding to the inaugural function, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) workers stopped for tea at Moreshwar Shendge’s house. After coming out of the house around 6 pm, an unknown person threw ink on his body. This caused a huge uproar. Patil was again taken to Shedge’s house.

Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray party workers protested in front of a temple in Chinchwad for making offensive statements about great Indian leaders and they raised slogans in protest of Chandrakant Patil. Meanwhile, a tight police presence has been deployed at the said place and the police have detained the protestors.
