Pune: Jharkhand Man Found Murdered in Baner, Two Suspects Arrested
Baner, 18th February 2025: A dead body was found on Pan Card Club Road in Baner, which was later identified as a man from Jharkhand. Baner Police suspected foul play at the murder scene, prompting an investigation. Two suspects have been arrested for their suspected involvement, and the process of registering a case and investigation is ongoing.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav, around noon today, a man was found dead at Meera Residency on Pan Card Club Road in Baner. The victim had been choked to death with a rope tied to a door. Baner Police arrived at the scene and identified the deceased as Sunil Tudu (age 32, resident of Jharkhand).
DCP Jadhav stated, “The deceased came to Pune yesterday around 2 PM to work as a helper in a labour camp. The post-mortem of the deceased is in process at Sassoon General Hospital. A case of murder is suspected, and suspects have been arrested by us.”
Senior Police Inspector Navnath Jagtap, in charge of Baner Police Station, told Punekar News, “We received information at noon today and rushed to the spot. Upon initial inspection, we suspected murder. After investigation, we have arrested two suspects who we believe were involved. They were last seen with the deceased yesterday night, after which he was found dead. The investigation and inquiry are ongoing. A case of murder is being registered at Baner Police Station. Further details are awaited.”
